This is a stronger looking age group than the 1994 born English footballers. They still have another year of being under 21 players for their development so hopefully they can push on and still go up a level. As always with younger players they can go up and down. A player like Jack Grealish was very promising last season yet this year he’s all but vanished from Villa’s first team. These are the development obstacles young players can face.

From looking at these players, I think 14 will make the 25 man Premier League Squads when the players hit that age group next summer. That isn’t so bad when you consider there are 130 ish English players in Premier League 25 man Squads. It’s tough competition when you are fighting against footballers from all over the globe and with a bit of luck more than 14 can make it. They’ve got just over a season to get there and as we’ve seen from Marcus Rashford in the last week, much can change for young footballers when they get their chance.
