Here’s the progression of the 1997 born English Footballers who were at Championship clubs one year ago in September 2018
Not many of these Championship footballers has managed to make the step up into the Premier League with only one player in Ezri Konsa having made it into this season’s 25 man PL Squads.
That said 31 of these 53 footballers are still signed to clubs in England’s top two divisions and there are some players in this group who in time could make it into the Premier League whilst most of these footballers should go on to have decent professional careers. Two years ago James Maddison was a Championship player for Norwich & now he’s in the England squad so there’s still plenty of development left for these 1997 born footballers and it will be interesting to follow their progress over the next few years.
